Circa 1900 hand woven hemp and wool blanket from Europe. Woven by hand in the Carpathian Mountain Region of Europe. This blanket was constructed by first hand weaving the 2 lengths, then hand stitching tho two lengths in a very primitive hand stitched seam down the middle. The ends are hand stitched with a hem. This blanket uses a complex weave and is woven using both linen (heavy hemp) and natural wool from goats. The colors are a pale natural hemp off-white, a muted gray-blue, mossy green, and a faded blood orange red.
