1870 Rob Peter to Pay Paul Quilt

Circa 1870-1880 Rob Peter to Pay Paul Quilt. Hand pieced and machine quilted on a treddle machine. Signed by its maker with a hand stitched "L" in one corner. This quilt was made to fit a 3/4 size bed, which were commonly used in the late 1800s. The cranberry red color on each side was designed to hang over each side of the bed and the lighter red would fit on the top of the bed.
