This jacket is made from a circa 1950-1960 Suzani from Samarkand, Central Asia. Hand embroidered on woven cotton.
Suzani's are characterized as artisanal tribal textiles traditionally made for decorative or ceremonial purposes. Often used to hang in the entryway of religious practices or gatherings.
 
Five vintage coat buttons.
Two front patch pockets.
One front breast pocket.
Size small 26" front body length, a 24.5" back body length, a 17" shoulder, a 39" chest, and a 30.25" sleeve length.
 
Each textile bares marks of the past. All signs of wear, character, stains and mending are reminders of its' history, and original to every carefully curated and preserved textile. Hand made in California.
