This pillow is made from is a 1930 Wool Block Patchwork Quilt. It was made by a grandfather and grandmother in the mid-1930's. The Grandfather worked for Sears for many years, altering men's suits. When he retired he did a little of the same kind of work at home. This quilt was made from scraps and or samples of wool fabric of men's suits that he had from his working days. Grandmother did the hand sewing on the quilt. See the letter from "mom", written in 2004 for the personal narrative.

  • Border is black silk and wool original to the hem of the quilt
  • Back panel is made with deadstock linen
  • Fastens at the back with zipper
  • Hand-drawn label with textile origin stitched on back
