This Jacket is made from a 1910 log cabin quilt. A California native, this quilt started in the North in the heart of Humboldt where it spent most of its life. Traving down the sunny coast and arriving in Santa Cruise, this piece lived in the home of a surfer couple. Spending thier entire lives living the search for waves, the applique on the back worded "PRAY FOR SURF" symbolizes the notion of surfing as a religion for many. As a truly California quilt, this saying was just.
