Cathedral Window Jacket (M)
This jacket is made from a c. 1870-1880 "Cathedral Window" Quilt from Robbinston Maine. Hand stitched in red and white in a pattern closely resembling images of Cathedral windows. All hand stitched except for the red binding which was machine stitched by a treadle machine.
Signed by its maker with a hand stitched "L" in the corner.
It was made to fit a 3/4 size bed, which were commonly used in the late 1800s. Thus, this quilt was designed with a cranberry red color on two sides to hang over the bed and a lighter red on top to sit atop the bed.
- Five front horn buttons
- Retro short box fit
- Two front patch pockets
