This jacket is made from a Suzani from Samarkand, Central Asia from circa 1950-1960. Hand embroidered with silk on woven cotton. Suzani's are characterized as artisanal tribal textiles traditionally made for decorative or ceremonial purposes. Often used to hang in the entryway of religious practices or gatherings.
