This jacket is made from a 1930s wool block patchwork quilt. It was made by grandfather and grandmother in the mid-1930's. The Grandfather worked for Sears for may years, altering mens suits. When he retired, he did a little of the same work at home. The Quilt is made from scraps and samples of wool fabric of men's suits that he had collected over the years. Grandmother did the hand sewing on the quilt. It is heavy to keep them cold on the winter nights.
